Grand Rapids, mi | Grandville, MI |Wyoming, MI | Byron center, MI | Rockford, MI

Welcoming a new baby into your family is one of life’s most special moments. At Alli Gerbers Photography, I specialize in natural and timeless newborn photography in Grand Rapids, Michigan and nearby areas. My goal is to capture the tiny details, early connections, and peaceful moments that make your baby’s first days unforgettable.

Newborn sessions typically happen within the first 5 to 14 days after birth when babies are sleepiest and easiest to pose. If baby is older, don’t fret- beautiful photos can still be taken. Sessions can take place either in a studio or in the comfort of your home within the greater Grand Rapids area.

Parents and siblings are always encouraged to participate in the session so I can capture the love and connection of your growing family. Each session includes professionally edited images delivered through an online gallery with printing rights.

If you’re looking for a Grand Rapids newborn photographer, I would be honored to help document these first moments of your baby’s life.

Where do newborn photography sessions take place?

Newborn photography sessions can take place in a studio or in your home within the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan area, including Grandville, Wyoming, Byron Center, Rockford, Comstock Park. I will travel further for additional fee.

Can parents and siblings be included in newborn photos?

Yes! Parents and siblings are encouraged to participate in newborn sessions to capture the connection and love of your growing family.

Do you offer maternity and newborn photography packages?

Do I need to bring outfits, wraps or props for my baby’s photos?

You don’t need to worry about bringing anything for your baby. I provide a wide selection of professional newborn photography items, including a variety of swaddles in many colors, as well as outfits, headbands, bonnets and carefully selected props.

Can I request specific props or bring my own props?

Absolutely! Please mention this before the day of our session so I can plan accordingly. This includes outfits and specific colors as well.

How long does a typical newborn photography session last?

Newborn Sessions typically last 2-4 hours.  This allows time for feeding, diaper changes, etc…  Sessions are always baby led.

What should I wear for my newborn session?

To make things easier for moms, I offer a client closet with a curated selection of dresses available for adult women.  There are also a few wardrobe options available for children.  Please let me know if you are interested when you book your session.

You’re always welcome to bring your own outfits.  Soft, neutral tones photograph beautifully. I recommend simple, timeless clothing without busy patterns, large logos, or bright neon colors. I especially recommend creams, soft pastels, earth tones, and light textures.

I am happy to help guide you in choosing pieces that will photograph best, and coordinate nicely.
